Children's Games & Sports
Introduction
Many children's spots within America, are centered around the stars. The conditioning to worship certain people, making idols of them begins young.
Within Jubilee Colony, we'd like to establish a completely different mindset. Get all to participate. Instead of only having two teams, have four or six, if we can. Hence, istead of 22 to 30 children involved, we can have 40 to 80.
At Milton Senior, Bulawayo, Rhodesia, in a school of a thousand plus children, we had the Under 13, Under 14, Under 15, Under 16 and the open group, playing rugby, or cricket, basket ball, or baseball. A few played football. In the rugby and cricket sections, each age group had up to four to six teams. Hence in each age group 60 - 90 children were practicing rugby, at least twice a week, and playing on each Saturday. We were pariticipators, not mere spectators. Of course to watch the First Teams clash against another school, is what we lived for. So ya! We had our own little hero worship going also.
Depending on how large Jubilee Colony becomes, will determine the number of games and sports we can cater for. Something has to be done. Things change so fast, that sport is becoming unfashionable more and more ever day.
